What they did, the lives they lived, the sacrifices they made, the stories they told and the songs they sang and finally, the deaths they died, make up a part of our own experience. Read the latest copy of The Rebel Yell: April 2013 150th Anniversary Events: For the next four years 2011-2015, the 20th South Carolina will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War and the events that forever changed our nation. June 27-30, 2013, 150th Battle of Gettysburg May 3-5, 2013, 150th Battle of Chancellorsville December 7-9, 2012, ”Fire on the Rappahannock” the 150th Battle of Fredericksburg. September 7-9, 2012 the 20th fought in the cornfields of Sharpsburg MD. April 10-15, 2012 the 20th occupied Fort Pulaski in Savannah GA to commemorate the 150th siege and surrender of the fort. It was a hot one, but we all survived see our photos of the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run. On April 12, 2011 members of the 20th SCVI participated in the 150th Firing on Ft. Sumter.
