Who We Are:
The 20th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry and the 13th United States
Infantry Regiments are composed of men who are dedicated to the accurate
portrayal of the common soldier during the American Civil War.
We are a non-profit organization operating under mutually agreed upon By-laws
and governed by an elected staff drawn from our membership. As a registered
member of the South Carolina Confederation of Historical Societies, we are
headquartered Columbia, South Carolina. Our Living History services are also provided
for the South Carolina State Museum, The National Park Service, Columbia Action
Council's Autumn-Fest Celebration, numerous Lexington & Richland County Schools,
and on occasion, even participated with the Motion Picture Industry in
productions such as Gettysburg, North and South, and Class of '61.
Many of our members have participated in anniversary
battle re-enactments across the country, from Manassas, to Gettysburg, to the
surrender at Appomattox. It is our ongoing desire to provide and strive for the
most authentic impression possible for the period of 1861 to 1865; but most of
all, to have fun through education and history.
